Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, the renowned rapper, actor and producer, has taken legal action against his ex-girlfriend, Daphne Joy Narvaez. The lawsuit centers around her public accusation that he raped her more than a decade ago during their relationship.

In March, Daphne Joy posted a statement on Instagram, alleging that 50 Cent had raped her. This accusation came after 50 Cent reportedly sought sole custody of their 11-year-old son, Sire. Joy’s post read, “I am tired of upholding and protecting an image to our son that you have never even earned. Let’s put the real focus on your true evil actions of raping me and physically abusing me. You are no longer my oppressor and my God will handle you from this point on.”

50 Cent has consistently denied any wrongdoing. He refuted the rape and abuse allegations made by Joy. Additionally, he filed for custody of Sire, which further escalated tensions between the former couple.

On May 6, 2024,  50 Cent filed a defamation lawsuit against Daphne Joy in Texas. He claims that her public accusations subjected him to “extensive public ridicule, hatred, and contempt.” According to 50 Cent, Joy’s statements were a “purposeful attempt” to damage his reputation. The lawsuit alleges that Joy retaliated against him after he sought custody of their son.

In the suit, 50 Cent asserts that Joy made “multiple defamatory statements” on Instagram, falsely accusing him of rape and physical abuse during their prior relationship. These statements, he argues, were intended to harm his personal and business reputation, negatively impact his custody case, and prevent him from seeing his minor son.

Interestingly, 50 Cent's attorney, Reena Jain, suggests that Joy may be in cahoots with Sean “Diddy” Combs, who has a longstanding rivalry with 50 Cent. Jain’s statement reads, “Despite being given ample opportunity to retract a false and malicious retaliatory accusation, Ms. Narvaez has shamefully chosen to interfere with her 11-year-old son’s relationship with his loving father by falsely calling him a ‘rapist.'”
