In response to producer Carol Baum's recent remarks against her at a presentation, Sydney Sweeney expressed her sadness that a seasoned Hollywood figure like Carol would "attack another woman."

Sydney Sweeney is holding her head up high.

Euphoria star Sydney has criticized Father of the Bride producer Carol Baum for expressing her disapproval of the hype surrounding her appearance. A spokesperson for Sydney called Baum's actions "shameful" and expressed disappointment that a woman in her industry could choose to attack another woman, highlighting the importance of diversity in the industry.

Carol Baum, a female producer known for her roles in films like Fly Away Home and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, criticized Sydney for unjustly disparaging her during a conversation after a screening of her 1988 film Dead Ringers.

On the occasion, Carol said, "There's an actress who everybody loves now, Sydney Sweeney," as reported by the Daily Mail. "I don't get Sydney Sweeney."

Not only does the producer teach at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, but she also said that she saw Sydney's 2023 romantic comedy Anyone But You while traveling because she "wanted to know who [Sydney] is and why everybody's talking about her," but she also described the film as "unwatchable."

She said she had even asked her pupils to "explain this girl to me" in order to start a conversation in her USC producing class. She lacks beauty and acting skills. How come she's so hot?

Carol has not yet responded to E! News's request for comment.

Following the screening, New York Times film critic Janet Maslin, who facilitated the post-screening discussion with Carol, tried to explain the producer's remarks in light of the negative reaction. Accepting that everyone but you "is unwatchable," she clarified on April 16 on X. We brought up anyone but You because, in an era when most rom-coms aren't succeeding, it's been a rare big hit. Not because we wished to disparage anyone without cause."
