The Cleveland Browns' star tight end, David Njoku, burned 17% of his entire body surface area after a firepit explosion left his face barely recognisable, as he wears a mask to hide his identity in public.

Njoku received second-degree burns to his arms and face as the flames and heat damaged the top two layers of his skin, leaving his team doctor advising him to not play in the contest, describing the injury as "probably the most painful burn you can have".

Von Miller of the Buffalo Bills is currently rocked by an assault storm that saw him arrested after a warrant was issued to his name following a 911 call from his pregnant girlfriend.

Tyreek Hill laughed at the suggestion that he's a "side piece" in Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce's friendship, joking that he felt "jealous" and "hurt" about his role.

The Miami Dolphins wide receiver took the comparison in good jest but made it clear that he's never been anyone's sneaky link on the side, always being the main man throughout his academic career and professional football career.

"Pat had (Travis) Kelce and I was kind of jealous," Hill said to the "RG3 and the Ones" podcast. "I was hurt. Patrick, you ain't never invited me over to your house like you did Kelce, that's why we here where we at now.

"I've never been anybody's side chick before. Always, my whole life," Hill said. "High school, middle school - all the quarterbacks' main chick.

UPDATE: The Glenn Heights, Texas, Police Department told sources that Von Miller turned himself in late in the afternoon and was booked into the DeSoto Tri-City Jail. The Buffalo Bills defensive star posted bond ($5,000) and was eventually released.

The GHPD released a mugshot of Miller at time of booking on Thursday evening.

The alleged assault incident was reported by WFAA in Dallas. It's unclear yet if the charges will have any repercussions from the NFL.
