It was a bustling night in London as The Gunners of North London took on the Blues in Emirates stadium. This match was a Must win for Arsenal as they were still hoping to go home with silverware at the end of the season. The match was played at the famed Emirates Stadium.

Chelsea were to play without their main man Cole Palmer who has bagged an impressive 20 goals this season for the club. Head coach Mauricio Pochetino dismissed claims that they were at a disadvantage without their key player. He said that this was an opportunity for the other players to prove themselves.

The match kicked-off and within the first five minutes the gunners were off the mark. Leandro Trossard capitalized on a chance and fired the ball inside the near post leaving the keeper no chance. They had started with a bang and were eager to make a statement. The first half didn’t have much activity as Chelsea sought not to increase the deficit.

In the second half however, a different story unraveled. 12 minutes after the beginning of the second half, defender Ben White pounced on a chance to make the score 2-0. This was the result of a poorly cleared ball following a corner. Chelsea’s woes had only began. Only five minutes later, Norwegian midfielder, Martin Odegaard put Kai Havertz in on goal with a wonderful through ball and the striker roofed the ball leaving the keeper with an even heavier burden.

The score now 3-0 in the 57th minute. Some nasty man-marking and lazy pressing allowed Kai Havertz to find the back of the net again in the 65th minute. The game was surely over as Chelsea had been dominated in every aspect of the match.

The icing on the cake came in the 70th minute as Ben White found the back of the net again as the keeper was left wondering where it all went wrong. 5-0 the score. A humbling result indeed and a statement by the gunners in their title race. This win took Arsenal on top of the table with 77 points and so the plot thickens.
