Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly turned down a staggering offer to join an unnamed Saudi Arabian club. The Portuguese star is said to have handed in a transfer request in his bid to part ways with Manchester United this summer.

Ronaldo is reportedly willing to join a team which participate in the Champions League next season after failing to help the Red Devils secure a top-four spot last term.

According to ESPN, Ronaldo has rejected a lucrative two-year contract worth a total 250m euros recently offered by a Saudi side. The unnamed club reportedly offered Manchester United 35m euros to acquire Ronaldo's services this summer.

Ronaldo has not travelled with the rest of his teammates for Manchester United's preseason tour in Thailand and Australia.

Chelsea and Atletico Madrid are also amongst the potential suitors, but new boss Erik ten Hag has made clear that Ronaldo is part of his plans ahead of next season.

"We are planning for Cristiano Ronaldo for the season and that's it," said Ten Hag.

"I'm looking forward to working with him. Cristiano is not for sale. He is in our plans and we want success together.

"He's not with us and it's due to personal issues. I spoke with him before this issue came up. I had a conversation with him and I had a good talk. That is between Cristiano and me.

"What I can confirm is we had a really good conversation together. I didn't speak to him after [the news]."

On Thursday, the Portugal international posted a picture on Instagram where he can be seen working out on his United shorts.
