Halle Bailey, the singer and actress soon to be seen as Ariel in the live-action remake of "The Little Mermaid," recently offered a glimpse into the challenges of motherhood by sharing her experience with postpartum depression.

While expressing her deep love for her son, Halo, Bailey revealed she has been battling "severe, severe" postpartum depression. This has manifested in difficulty being apart from Halo for even short periods, causing anxiety after just 30 minutes of separation.

Importantly, Bailey clarifies that her depression isn't a reflection of her feelings towards her son. It's a separate issue impacting her own emotions and sense of self. She describes feeling like a "completely different person" and a disconnect from her pre-baby identity, even struggling to recognize herself in the mirror.

Bailey's openness about postpartum depression is commendable, especially considering the stigma that often surrounds mental health discussions. She describes the experience as akin to "swimming in this ocean that's like the biggest waves you've ever felt," highlighting the overwhelming nature of the condition.

Thankfully, Bailey finds support in her boyfriend, DDG. Her story serves as a reminder that even celebrities face vulnerabilities and challenges. Bailey sheds light on postpartum depression and empowers others to seek help while navigating this difficult chapter.
