Britney Spears and Jamie Spears have reached a resolution regarding their ongoing dispute over legal fees, which originated from the conservatorship battle that commenced in December 2021, more than two years after the termination of the conservatorship that had granted her father control over her affairs. The settlement, undisclosed in amount, was confirmed by both parties' legal representatives in Los Angeles Superior Court on April 25.

Britney Spears' attorney, Mathew S. Rosengart, stated, "Although the conservatorship was terminated in November 2021, her desire for freedom is now fully realized. As she wished, her newfound freedom encompasses her disengagement from court proceedings and legal entanglements in this matter." Rosengart emphasized Britney Spears' victory in reclaiming her autonomy and fundamental rights.

This resolution spares both parties from a trial concerning alleged financial misconduct during the conservatorship, which was scheduled to commence in May, according to reports from The New York Times.

The dispute stemmed from the 13-year conservatorship initiated in 2008. Jamie Spears was relieved of his duties as conservator of her estate in September 2021, and the conservatorship itself was dissolved two months later.

Jamie Spears' attorney, Alex Weingarten, commented on the settlement, stating, "We have reached an agreement that resolves all outstanding issues. I am unable to disclose specifics as the terms of the settlement are confidential. Jamie is relieved that this chapter is now closed. His actions have always been motivated by his love and desire to protect his daughter."

The pursuit of court approval for over $2 million in fees, paid to various law firms during the legal battle, as well as reimbursement for his current attorney's expenses, was initiated by Jamie Spears the following month, as reported by The New York Times.
