Macaulay Culkin has not had the most pristine personal life since becoming a historic child star in the early 1990s, but there's no denying his role in the 'Home Alone' movies resonate with all watchers until this very day.

The impact of his acting as Kevin McCallister in both Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York has led to Culkin getting his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday. Culkin was joined by family and was met by a special guest.

Catherine O'Hara reunites with Macaulay Culkin

Without knowing it, Culkin and Catherine O'Hara - who played Kevin's mother in the movies - recreated one of the most wholesome moments of Home Alone.

O'Hara gave a speech at the ceremony and was full of praise for Culkin.

"Home Alone was, is and always will be a beloved global sensation. The reason families all over the world can't let a year go by without watching and loving Home Alone together, is because of Macaulay Culkin. It is Macaulay's perfect performance as Kevin McAllister that gave us that little everyboy on an extraordinary adventure. I know you worked really hard, but you made acting look like the most natural thing in the world to do. Thank you for including me, your fake mom who left you home alone not once, but twice, to share in this happy occasion. I'm so proud of you."

Culkin was visibly emotional following the speech, shedding tears due to O'Hara's beautiful words. His star was then unveiled.

It was a heartwarming day for Culkin, his family and his loved ones. One they will not soon forget.
