Jermall Charlo is already thinking about the next step he wants to take inside a ring after his victory against Jose Benavidez. Rather than wait around, he wants his main course right now: Canelo Alvarez.

The American boxer has is looking to do what he's set out to accomplish: to be at the top of boxing and avenge the defeat of his brother Jermell, following the fight that took place in October at the T-Mobile Arena in Los Angeles.

That is why his challenge now focuses on Mexican Canelo Alvarez, who is the unified and absolute super middleweight champion. Although Jermall Charlo is coming off a victory against Benavidez, it still seems that he is not ready to face a fighter of Alvarez's caliber, although he's made his desire clear for everyone to see.

"Pick me [Canelo Alvarez]...I know they're going to say he already fought my twin brother [Jermell], but I'll be a totally different twin when I face him. I'm not criticizing anything my brother did, he dared to want to be big, he moved up two divisions to fight Canelo," said Charlo.
Charlo's performance against Benavidez

While the fight against Benavidez promised fireworks, Charlo needed the full 12 rounds to come out on top.

Although the American dominated from start to finish en route to a unanimous decision victory, he knows that he wasn't at his best.

"I'm happy for the win, but the power definitely wasn't there," Charlo said after the fight.
