The New England Patriots' docuseries called 'The Dynasty' has been incredible to watch, we don't often get that kind of access to historic sports teams like that one.

At the very center of the story, there is quarterback Tom Brady. For 20 years, he played with the team he loves to this day and won six Super Bowl rings in the process.

He became a legendary athlete who can only be compared to the likes of titans such as Michael Jordan or Lionel Messi. But all love stories tend to come to an end. In this case, the end was bitter between Brady and the Patriots.

People have wanted to know the reason Tom decided to leave the team and this docuseries touches on that.

Tom Brady's account of how he decided to leave the Patriots

In 'The Dynasty', Patriots owner Robert Kraft is the first one who revealed the day Tom Brady entered his office and told him he wanted to leave the team. Immediately after that, the quarterback couldn't hold back his tears.

According to the series' reporting, the issue was that the Patriots refused to pay Brady $50 million for the next two seasons.

By March 2020, Tom was already under contract with the Buccaneers for that same amount. Despite leaving the team under those circumstances, Tom Brady remains a faithful New England Patriot even in retirement.

When he returned to Foxborough, the welcoming party was massive as everybody is fond of Brady.

Tom Brady goes on to talk about Robert Kraft encouraging Brady to tell Bill Belichick of his intentions. How saying goodbye was extremely hard. But the coach also claims that leaving was the best decision for Brady.
