The Israel-Palestine war can be viewed as food for thought. The war already has had numerous impacts both to the parties involved and to the adjacent lands. As reports indicates, more harm than good has been a clear result of this endless war.

Civilians, combatants and children have been on the forefront and undoubtly the most affected in this endless war. The results escalating from loss of lives and suffering has been greatly witnessed and it is something we all cannot take our eyes of. The cycle of violence has led to immense trauma and suffering for individuals and communities.

The conflict has created humanitarian crisis especially in the Gaza strip where a larger number of the population suffers from poverty, unemployment, food insecurity and inadequate access to proper healthcare and education.

Israeli imposed blockade has exacerbated these conditions leading to shortage of essentials goods and services. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians has been forced to be refugees in neighboring countries and also within Palestinian’s territories. Generations of Palestinian’s have been forced to dwell on refugees’ camps unable to return to their homes.

The infrastructure in the Palestinian territories including homes, schools, hospitals and water and sanitation facilities has been repeatedly damaged during the conflict. This on the other hand has hindered development and well-being of the population.

Political impasse and polarization has been among this rampant effects. This makes it even more difficult to reach a peaceful resolution. Efforts to negotiate a two-state resolution has faltered due to distrust, competing claims to land and disagreements over key issues such as border, settlements and status of Jerusalem.

Regional instability experienced in the broader middle-east region has fueled tensions between Israel and its Arab neighbors providing a rallying cry for extremist groups. International critics and isolation has also tampered with efforts to resolve the conflicts. Israeli’s policies in the occupied territories including settlements expansions and use of force for Palestinian protesters has also been a huge setback that cannot be ignored at all.

All these acts have drawn condemnation from international communities and led to call for boycotts, divestments and sanctions resulting to diplomatic isolation and strained relations with some countries. Overall, Israel-Palestine conflict has had far reaching negative consequences. Resolving the conflict remains a formidable challenge but it is essential for achieving a lasting peace and security for Israel and Palestine.
