Canelo Alvarez still does not have the exact date to return to the ring, however, he is already thinking about his next opponent, and the Jalisco native has not taken his finger off the line, and is that since the defeat against Russian fighter Dmitry Bivol, he has a great obsession for a rematch.

"I'm very happy and grateful to God to be able to do everything as before, and my priority is to have a rematch against Bivol, if he starts to put a lot of buts, we'll see what happens, but that's my priority," Canelo said.Canelo's sponsor supports him in his idea of facing Bivol for the second time

Carlos Bremer, owner of Grupo Value and Canelo's sponsor, spoke about the Mexican fighter's idea of facing Bivol again and not looking for a preparation fight to make his mandatory defense by the WBC.

"If he wants to then we have to support him [...] If he wants to come back then we are going to try, but the idea is for him to continue being champion where his division is (168 lbs. super middleweight)," were the words of the Mexican businessman, who has declared himself a fan of Canelo's boxing style.

"(Dmitry Bivol) is not just any fighter, he is very elastic, with a lot of distance, he is not a big fighter who is a lump, I don't see much of a case for him (a rematch against the Russian fighter)," Bremer continued.

When does Canelo return to the ring?

Canelo is still recovering from surgery on his left hand, and he said that in January he will begin to punch, although he also said that May would be the date for his return for the Mexican celebrations in the United States.
