Ever since Jon Jones suffered that shoulder injury during a sparring session ahead of his fight against Stipe Miocic, there have been many who question his claim to the title. A legend in his own right but someone who only fought once as a Heavyweight and won the title after only one fight.

Naturally, other great heavyweights such as Tom Aspinall are complaining about the absurdity of the situation. If he hadn't picked up that injury, he would've had a chance to defend his title but that is not the case the Aspinall considers the division needs to keep moving forward. Jones responded through a series of tweets after the British interim Heavyweight champion demanded for Jones to be stripped of his belt.

Jon Jones diminishes Tom Aspinall's career

You already know how fired up Jon Jones can get, he had no patience for Tom Aspinall's rants and demands. How did he respond? By diminishing the British heavyweight's career thus far. But if we look at Aspinall's history, he was also five consecutive wins in when he got his first shot at the title as a light heavyweight.

He was literally in the same position Tom Aspinall is currently at right now. But for folks who consider Jon Jones the GOAT, they fail to miss the points Aspinall is trying to make. The truth of the matter is that most UFC fans who are following this story agree with Tom Aspinall.

If Jon Jones recovers and wants another shot at the title, surely Dana White will give it to him. But meanwhile, fans are also asking for the title to be stripped from Jones. The issue got even more heated between both fighters after Jon Jones revealed he just received surgery on his injury and is still about 10 weeks away from a complete recovery.

Aspinall decided to respond by posting a video timeline of him getting old while he waits for Jones. Needless to say, Jonny Bones did not respond well to this. But everybody is now pondering if Jones should be stripped off his title or not.
