The "Drake Curse" is a popular superstition in the sports world, suggesting that teams or individuals lose when the rapper Drake publicly supports them.  Drake placed a bet on Pereira for the UFC 300 event. He successfully defended his title against Jamahal Hill, ending the fight with a knockout.

This victory for Pereira also marked a successful bet for Drake, breaking the so-called curse in this instance. In this successful wager, Drake placed a bet of $675,000 on the reigning champion and after the victory happened, Drake is expected to cash out on a whooping  $1.2 million, quite a significant milestone after his curse was broken. 

This event was headlined by the light heavyweight title defense that saw Alex Pereira face off against Jamahal Hill. Pereira, known for his striking prowess, lived up to his reputation by delivering a stunning knockout in the first round, retaining his championship and solidifying his status the warrior he thinks he is.
The co-main event featured a lightweight showdown between Justin Gaethje and Max Holloway. Gaethje, carrying the BMF title into the octagon, was expected to bring his trademark ferocity to the fight and most fans expected him to take the win. However, in a twist of fate, it was Holloway who emerged victorious, showcasing his resilience and tactical acumen to secure a win against the formidable Gaethje.
The other highlight of the night was the clash between Charles Oliveira and Arman Tsarukyan. In a grand chess session between the two masters, a battle that tested the mettle of both fighters, Oliveira's experience and skill were on full display. Despite Tsarukyan's valiant effort, Oliveira's precision and control ultimately led him to a decisive victory.
Israel Adesanya had a hilarious reaction to the pereira knockout, jokingly saying that Jamahal Hill got a flashback to their previous encounters. Adesanya, who has faced Pereira multiple times in the Octagon before. Adesanya was impressed by the stunning performance  Pereira put up  during the event. 
 It's clear that Adesanya, despite their rivalry, has a some respect for Pereira's abilities as a fighter.
