When Dana White announced the upcoming Middleweight fight between Khamzat Chimaev and Kamaru Usman, he also said the winner would have a title shot against Middleweight champion Sean Strickland. That came as a surprise for many because Israel Adesanya has the right to ask for an immediate rematch after losing the belt.

We hadn't heard from him since the night he lost in such a clear manner. But Adesanya is finally out in public talking about his future. We all need to understand this champion fought probably more times in the span of a year than any other UFC star in the world. Perhaps only folks like Volkanovski or Henry Cejudo match his level of activity.

Adesanya's reason to take a break from the UFC

Conor McGregor's return is closer. The fighter, who has been out of competition since suffering a serious injury - an ankle fracture - against Dustin Poirier in 2021, has completed the first step to do so: 'rejoining' the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) testing pool.

Because before his return to competition, 'The Notorious' must undergo six months of anti-doping tests and give a minimum of at least two negative tests. Thus, McGregor, 35, was expected to face Michael Chandler this year, but he cannot fight until he is in this testing pool for six months. Thus, the USADA confirmed the fighter's re-entry into its testing pool.

News on UFC 294 are moving fast as Dana White scrambled as best he could in order to deliver what the fans wanted. Paulo Costa kept on saying he wasn't going to drop out of the fight despite having gone through a surgery on his right elbow.

But Dana White and the UFC's medical staff needed to run some tests on that elbow and the final verdict was that Costa is not fit to fight. If White allowed him to get in the octagon, this fight would've been too one-sided on Khamzat Chimaev's favor. As fast as possible, White and his team got to work searching for a possible opponent and landed on the name that absolutely everybody wanted to fight Khamzat. That man is none other than No. 1 Welterweight in the world, Kamaru Usman.

Although it was probably expected Conor McGregor would take Dillon Danis' side ahead of the fight against Logan Paul. Many didn't expect him to support the constant harassment the Bellator fighter has conducted against Paul's fiancé, supermodel Nina Agdal. He didn't support it exactly but he also didn't denounce Dillon Danis' deplorable behavior of trolling and slut shaming Nina.

McGregor recently had an exchange with a Mirror Boxing reporter with whome he discussed his potential return to UFC activity and addressed the Dillon Danis situation. Conor is aware of the lawsuit from Nina but he didn't really care about it and still showed support for Danis.

Joe Rogan said it perfectly during a recent episode of his podcast, Dana White likes what works and makes him millions of dollars. If a fighter or a specific sport is not part of that system he knows so perfectly, the UFC president quickly dismisses them. The same dynamic can be applied for Francis Ngannou, a heavyweight champion who decided to go off script and started making demands that Dana White didn't agree with. Now that he is free to negotiate with anybody he likes, Ngannou is poised to win millions of dollars fighting Tyson Fury and even more millions fighting the the PFL. If that wasn't enough, he also made it possible for his rivals to earn at least $2 million guaranteed for fighting him. His Heavyweight belt belongs to Jon Jones now, something that has Francis completely unconcerned.
