WARSAW, Dec 13 (Reuters) - Apple (AAPL.O) faces an investigation in Poland over whether its new rules on privacy and personal data processing for iOS devices violate competition law, Polish antimonopoly watchdog UOKiK said on Monday.

Apple rolled out an update of its iOS operating system in April with new privacy controls designed to limit digital advertisers from tracking iPhone users.

The Polish regulator said Apple's new rules have significantly reduced the ability of third-party apps to obtain personal data in order to send personalised adverts.

The €10billion James Webb space telescope - the largest and most powerful space observatory ever built - is finally set to launch from Europe's spaceport in French Guiana on 22 December.

A collaboration between NASA, the ESA and the Canadian Space Agency, the telescope will help answer fundamental questions about the universe, peering back in time 13.5 billion years. Here are five things to know.

The telescope's centerpiece is its enormous primary mirror, a concave structure 6.5 metres wide and made up of 18 smaller hexagonal mirrors. They're made from beryllium coated with gold, optimised for reflecting infrared light from the far reaches of the universe.
