In a significant de-escalation of their trade war, the US and China have agreed to a deal that will substantially cut import tariffs imposed on each other. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said both countries would lower their reciprocal tariffs by 115% for 90 days. The announcement followed talks held in Switzerland, marking the first discussions between the two countries since President Donald Trump levied steep tariffs on Chinese imports last month.

The Trump administration must halt much of its dramatic downsizing of the federal workforce, a California judge ordered Friday.
