Tom Holland, globally known for his portrayal of Spider-Man, has decided to indulge himself into entrepreneurship  with the launch of his non-alcoholic beer brand, Bero. Announced on October 16, 2024, the brand offers an alcohol-free option that Holland hopes will resonate with a broad audience, not just those on a sobriety journey but anyone seeking high-quality beverages without alcohol.

This launch comes two years into his personal sobriety journey, which he first discussed on Jay Shetty’s podcast. His journey began when a Dry January challenge made him realize how much he relied on alcohol in social situations. “All I could think about was having a drink," Holland recalled. After realizing the extent of his dependency, he made the decision to embrace a sober lifestyle. His experience inspired him to create Bero, a non-alcoholic beer that mirrors his values, offering the taste and experience of beer without the alcohol content.

The Bero line consists three varieties, each drawing from Holland’s personal history: Kingston Golden Pils, named after his hometown in the UK; Edge Hill Hazy IPA, inspired by his primary school; and Noon Wheat, a tribute to his schnauzer, Noon. Holland described Bero as “personal,” highlighting the meticulous craftsmanship behind it. “This beer isn’t just for those on a similar path,” he explained, “but for everyone who appreciates quality, craftsmanship, and living life to the fullest”.

The launch of Bero positions Holland among a growing group of celebrities entering the alcohol-free beverage market, including Blake Lively and Katy Perry. The trend reflects the rising popularity of the “sober curious” movement, where consumers are seeking healthier, mindful lifestyle choices. According to industry reports, the non-alcoholic beer market has been rapidly expanding in recent years.

Reactions to the launch have been mixed. Some fans have praised Holland for using his platform to promote a healthier lifestyle, while others have been skeptical about the appeal of non-alcoholic beer. However, Holland’s supporters appreciate his transparency about his sobriety and view Bero as a positive step toward inclusivity for those who want to socialize without alcohol.

Bero is available for purchase online, with pack sizes ranging from six to 24 cans. Holland’s venture is set to bring a fresh option to both sober individuals and those simply looking to cut back on alcohol without compromising on flavor.
