In a recent interview on TODAY, Suzanne Morrison, mother of late Matthew Perry, shared heartfelt memories of her last conversations with him before his death on October 28, 2023. Reflecting on these moments, she expressed a sense of premonition that surrounded their final exchanges.

Morrison recalled that just days before his passing, Perry had shown her one of his new homes. During the visit, he approached her and said, "I love you so much, and I'm so happy to be with you now." Reflecting on his words, Morrison admitted, "It was almost as though it was a premonition or something." She noted how rare such emotional conversations had become between them, adding, "How long has it been since we've had a conversation like that? It's been years."

In addition to these poignant expressions of love, Morrison disclosed Perry's unsettling final words. "He said, 'I'm not frightened anymore,'" she shared, explaining that his admission filled her with concern. Morrison believes her son sensed "an inevitability" in his final days, making these exchanges even more meaningful.

Perry's half-sister, Caitlin Morrison, also reflected on his memory, describing his infectious energy and the joy he brought into any space. "He had this ability to fill up a room with light," she shared. "When people were in a room with him, they clung to everything he said."

Caitlin is dedicated to preserving her brother's legacy through The Matthew Perry Foundation, which aids those struggling with addiction. "The work that I'm doing now is very selfish because it kind of feels like I'm sitting right next to Matthew," she explained, highlighting the personal significance of her efforts.

Perry tragically passed away at the age of 54 due to "acute effects of ketamine" after being found unresponsive in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home. The circumstances of his death led to charges against several individuals, including a physician implicated in providing the actor with the substance.
