You will truly fall in love with Hugh Grant's children's names. The Notting Hill star, who has been married to Anna Eberstein for six years, finally shared the unusual names he gave his daughters, ages eight and six.
Hugh even went so far as to reveal how he came up with the names, acknowledging that his 8-year-old daughter's nickname, Lulu Danger Grant, was selected during a "bit of a panic" on the day of her birth.
"We thought it might be nice for her when she was older if she could say in bars that her middle name is 'Danger,'" In an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on October 29, Hugh clarified, "so we named her Lulu Danger Grant."
How about his youngest daughter? In her honor, Hugh named her Blue Grant after his and Anna's 12-year-old son, John Mungo Grant.
"We asked her elder brother when she was on the way, 'There's a new baby coming along; what should we call her?'" Hugh remembered. "He said, 'Kevin' because that was his favorite minion."
He went on to say that after they gave his first option some thought and instructed him to think of "something else," "he said, 'Blue,' because it was his favorite color."
Additionally, Blue and Lulu have more than just eye-catching names. According to Hugh, who also has a 13-year-old daughter named Tabitha Xiao Xi Grant and an 11-year-old son named Felix Chang Hong Grant with his ex-partner Tinglan Hong, the two girls also have eye-catching Halloween costumes that depict the twin sister ghosts from the 1980 horror film The Shining, which starred Jack Nicholson and the late Shelley Duvall.
Hugh remarked, "Lulu and Blue are too good at Halloween," before pointing to a particular scene they "go from house to house" reenacting. "The little boy's on his tricycle, and then the two little identical girls come [and say], 'Come play with us, Danny, forever and ever and ever.'"
His daughters are "almost the same size even though they're two different ages," he continued, adding, "and we've had notes saying, 'Please don't send your kids anymore.'"
