Billie Eilish voiced her strong reaction to the 2024 presidential election results during her concert in Nashville on Wednesday night, expressing deep concern over Donald Trump's victory. Addressing the crowd, the Grammy-winning artist condemned the former president, describing him as a "convicted predator" who "hates women so, so deeply."

Eilish explained how she initially struggled with the idea of performing that evening, sharing, "Waking up this morning, I kind of couldn't fathom doing a show on this day." However, she went on to reflect on the privilege of being able to perform in such a charged political climate. "But, the longer the day went on, I kinda had this feeling of it's such a privilege I get to do this with you guys and that we have this in a time like right now," she said. She assured her fans, "I just love you so much, and I want you to know that you're safe with me and you're protected here, and you're safe in this room."

Before performing her song "Your Power," which Eilish co-wrote with her brother Finneas, she shared her thoughts on the song's deeper meaning. "It's about the abuse that exists in this world upon women and a lot of the experiences that I have gone through and that people I know have gone through," she revealed. She also highlighted the prevalence of abuse, stating, "To tell you the truth, I've never met one single woman who doesn't have a story of abuse." Eilish spoke candidly about her own experiences, adding, "I've been taken advantage of, and I've been, you know, my boundaries were crossed, to say it politely."

The song, which addresses the manipulation and abuse of power, took on a new significance in the wake of the election results. Eilish remarked, "Now a person who is a convicted... let's say convicted predator, someone who hates women so, so deeply is about to be the president." She dedicated the performance to women, saying, "This song is for all the women out there. I love you, I support you."

Earlier in the day, Eilish had posted on her Instagram Story, writing, "It's a war on women," a sentiment that echoed throughout her concert. She also expressed solidarity with other women affected by Trump's election, saying, "I want you to know that you're safe in this room," before performing her anthem, "Your Power." The powerful performance culminated in a rendition of The Beatles' "Yesterday," which Eilish felt was fitting for the moment.
