The discord in Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright's relationship was more severe than what fans may have thought. The Bravo stars, who had announced their split in February, split up on The Valley's first season finale. Brittany described the last straw that led her to leave their Los Angeles home and their 3-year-old son Cruz.

As they discussed their marital status in a heated post-divorce discussion on the June 4 episode, Brittany warned her estranged husband, "You're not just gonna get away with the way you've treated me for all these years."

The Kentucky native, along with co-stars Kristen Doute and Zack Whickham, narrate in a flashback the taunts that Jax has directed at Brittany throughout the years. Kristen queries, "Does he say, 'I know I treat you like s—t,'" "I am aware of my meanness. I'm aware that I've called you fat, called you f--king lazy, and warned you that if you two break up, you won't have any friends.

Brittany told her best friends that the last jab particularly hurt her, saying, "That was one of the main things, him saying I have no friends here in L.A."

Jax gave Brittany the reassurance that he had finally taken the first steps toward getting help for his anger management issues. She was quick to criticize his efforts, though.

In a confessional, the 35-year-old recounts how Jax has been claiming to go to therapy for years, but never attended due to the distance. Brittany, a Vanderpump Rules alum, asks Jax if he wants her back or if he will let her go. Jax reveals that he wanted Brittany back, but he didn't indicate a reconciliation. He mentioned that Brittany left him, which was difficult at first, but has since become nice.

Brittany confronted Jax over his alleged insults, claiming that he had screamed at her and said horrible things about her. Jax initially claimed he never said that, but later apologized for being out drinking. The heated heart-to-heart left Brittany feeling less hopeful for their relationship to work out. She questioned who just lies for attention and felt stronger now, knowing she doesn't deserve to be in a relationship like this. She believes she should be okay because she knows her worth and doesn't deserve to be in a relationship like this.
