Chace Crawford has one thing he will never share with you. And that's the Gossip Girl character he's been seeing because, well, it seems to have happened.
"I would say those things are inevitable," Chase confirmed in a sly manner to Alex Cooper when he appeared on the Call Her Daddy episode on June 12. "The thing about being in your 20s is that you're on these things, and the worst part is that people probably think it's these sexy scenes or something. There are probably sixty people watching. It's a period of inactivity. When you're on set for this show, you spend about 12 to 14 hours a day with interesting people from all different backgrounds."
The 38-year-old suggested, though, that it might not have been one of the major cast members of the show, which included actors like Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Michelle Trachtenberg, and Jessica Szohr, before fans jumped to conclusions.
"There's been a lot of actors and people coming onto the show over the years," he said. And I had the good fortune to have a great group of friends in the city. Each person has their own small circle of friends. As a result, you interact with people outside of that small circle. Numerous individuals are involved. However, it was similar to our time in college."
And about whether the star of The Boys ever knew about costar relationships that he helped keep a secret? "Oh yeah," was his response. "Absolutely."
Presumably, this excludes the real-life couples from the show that were widely known to the public, like Blake and Penn Badgley, Jessica and Ed Westwick, and Leighton and Sebastian Stan. All of these couples have subsequently found new partners.
However, Chace—who portrayed Nate Archibald for the entire six-season run of Gossip Girl—also provided an intimate glimpse into what makes interactions like these "inevitable" for him.
"The danger is if you connect right away with a sense of humor, at least for me," he admitted. "As in, if you get along well, can joke around, and give each other s—t,. I think, "Oh, I should watch." out.'"
