Miley Cyrus, known for her private lifestyle, recently opened up about her relationships within the entertainment industry. Despite her high-profile career and numerous connections, Miley prefers to keep her personal life separate from her professional one. During a candid interview on Netflix's "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman," Miley shared her thoughts on why she avoids forming close friendships with other celebrities.

"I am not very active or a very active part of my community of other artists and entertainers and celebrities," Miley revealed. "It just doesn’t feel like my people when I’m in that room. But there are certain artists," she continued, specifically mentioning Beyoncé as an exception. "Like Beyoncé — who, like us, we’ve known each other for a long time."

Miley reflected on a significant moment in her career when she performed alongside Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Fergie, Mary J. Blige, and others at the 2008 Stand Up to Cancer telethon. "I was, like, sandwiched between Rihanna and the Queen Bey, and they’re fully grown up, gorgeous, probably similar to my age now. Towering over me, completely stunning," Miley recalled. "I’m like, super small, have acne, have braces on the back of my teeth, and I’m standing next to Mariah Carey, who is dripping in diamonds. And Beyoncé was so kind to me."

This kindness helped foster a unique relationship between Miley and Beyoncé. Despite not being deeply embedded in the celebrity community, Miley values these genuine connections. "Now, just from seeing her, I’ve created, like, a relationship, maybe, a bit more in-depth," she explained. "The kindness and the consistency are everything, so I’m a part of my community in that way, but it’s all quality — not quantity."

Miley's recent collaboration with Beyoncé on the song "II Most Wanted" from Beyoncé's latest album, "Cowboy Carter," further solidified their bond. The heartfelt duet, which Miley co-wrote, became a top-10 hit in the United States, reaching No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100. "I wrote that song, like, two and a half years ago," Miley shared. "My mom would always go, ‘I love that song so much.’ So when Beyoncé reached out to me about music, I thought of it right away because it really encompasses our relationship. Getting to write a song, not just sing, for Beyoncé was a dream come true."

Ultimately, Miley's selective approach to friendships within the industry stems from her desire to maintain authentic, meaningful connections rather than numerous superficial ones. Her focus on quality over quantity allows her to stay grounded and true to herself amidst the often chaotic world of fame.
