Beloved General Hospital star Michael Easton has announced his departure from the show after an incredible decade-long run. Easton, known for his portrayal of Dr. Hamilton Finn since 2016, shared the news via Instagram, stating, "I've always been partial to the Irish goodbye - that's where you leave the party without actually telling anyone you're gone, but I thought you all deserved better. So I just want to let you know that I just filmed my final scenes here at General Hospital."

In his heartfelt message, Easton expressed gratitude towards the cast, crew, and fans. "I've loved every minute that I've been here. I want to thank the entire cast and crew for allowing me to share their stage this past 10 years. Most importantly, I want to thank all of you for the kindness and love you've shown me and my family. I won't ever forget you," he said. He concluded his message with a nod to Lou Gehrig: "And as I walk out of here for the last time, and with apologies to Lou Gehrig, I feel like the luckiest man on the face of the earth."

Easton's tenure on General Hospital began in 2012 when he joined the show as John McBain, a character from One Life to Live. Due to legal issues, he left the show temporarily but returned as Dr. Silas Clay, a role that ended in 2016. Shortly after, he was cast as Dr. Hamilton Finn, a character who resonated deeply with fans and earned him a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2018.

The announcement of Easton's departure marks the end of an era for General Hospital. His exit comes amid other significant cast changes, including the return of Jonathan Jackson as Lucky Spencer and Bryan Craig reprising his role as Morgan Corinthos for a special episode.

In his Instagram video, Easton reiterated his appreciation for the fans, saying, "Thank you for your kindness. My heart is filled with love and gratitude."
