The news that leading lady Jenn Tran and her chosen guy Devin Strader had split up two months after leaving Hawaii engaged was revealed in this year's Bachelorette finale, which lived up to the promise of being the "most dramatic season yet." (According to Jenn, Devin ended their fifteen-minute phone conversation.)

In the tearful live finale, the two ex-couples argued about how they thought it all ended.

Devin clarified, "I watched this beautiful girl grow and flourish into this amazing woman on her own." None of us on the program needed to help you become that person. It was fascinating to see you develop into the person you are today.

He went on, though, "I found myself falling short of those expectations in the real world after returning to the real world, sans cameras." I discovered that I was unable to live up to the standards that you both deserve and require. It grieved me to see how I contributed to your regression. To be happy, you don't have to lower your expectations."

And he continued to Jenn, "When we left the show, I had a lot of doubts and regretfully and sadly I suppressed those feelings, and I did come clean to you about that," in an attempt to clarify how precisely the pair's relationship felt "different" after leaving the program.

But Jenn answered the sincere statement with lightning speed.

"You concealed everything from me," retorted the 26-year-old. "I poured everything into you for two months, trying to fight for a relationship that was half-abandoned, while you hid all of these doubtful feelings and made me feel even more in love with you."

Devin said, "I was regretfully late on letting you know," in response.

In the early aftermath of their split, Jenn also criticized her ex-husband for a few of his behaviors, such as his choice to follow Maria Georgas on Instagram—the lady who had initially declined Jenn's invitation to be the Bachelorette.

Jenn clarified, saying, "I wake up to you following girls on Instagram—not just any girl, but Maria—after we ended the engagement on the phone. That is incredibly disrespectful to everything we had shared together, and it's also beyond my comprehension."

Devin conceded that she was correct. During the live finale, Devin told Jenn, "I can't excuse the Instagram follow." "I am aware of your pain from that. I'm not here to tell you that your feelings aren't valid. I obviously let you down. Other than that, there's nothing else I can say. "Every emotion I had for you was genuine."

He wasn't prepared to apologize, though, when Jenn claimed that he had gone out dancing in New York City with one of Jenn's previous suitors, Jeremy Simon, only a few hours after their split. He responded, "Am I not allowed to live a life?"

But ultimately, after a lot of back and forth, Jenn decided she wanted her ex-fiance to realize the value of a commitment.

"I hope that you learn that the weight of your words matter, and that if you're going to promise something, you should be able to fulfill those promises," she said Devin. "In that situation, I just could not have performed as well as you did. Additionally, I cherish and cultivate things that I love rather than discarding them. away the next day."
