Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy made his mom, Nicky Jones, feel extra special on her birthday. Jones was in the stands at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday, Oct. 7, proudly supporting her 21-year-old son as the Chiefs faced off against the New Orleans Saints.

In the fourth quarter, Worthy scored a three-yard rushing touchdown, contributing to the Chiefs' 26-13 win, marking their fifth consecutive victory this season. To celebrate his mom's birthday, he presented her with the game ball, running to the stands after his touchdown to share a heartfelt moment and a warm hug.

The Chiefs shared a video of the touching moment on X with the caption, "Celebrating mom's birthday with a touchdown 🫶."

According to Monday Night Football reporter Lisa Salters, Worthy views his mom as his best friend. "Xavier says his mom Nicky is like his sister. She had him at 18, and their bond is incredibly close. She's been there for him every step of the way, and they talk all the time," Salters reported.

Worthy, who was drafted in April after running a record-breaking 4.21-second 40-yard dash at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, has quickly become a fan favorite in his rookie season. Even Taylor Swift, who's dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, showed her support by liking a video of Worthy's draft announcement.

Jones regularly shares her pride for her son on X. In a heartfelt tweet from January 2024, she expressed her joy in being Worthy's mother. "Thank you for representing yourself, family, & city so well over the past 3 years. No off-field issues, played every game, even when injured. You persevered through tough times and stayed humble in good ones. Being your mom is one of my greatest joys!"

With a bye week coming up, Worthy and the Chiefs will next face the San Francisco 49ers on Oct. 20.
