It is said that Prince William is against Prince Harry, and King Charles III is patching things up. Journalist Petronella Wyatt, who has known Queen Camilla since she was eighteen, blamed William, forty-one, for the royal rift in a piece she penned for the Daily Telegraph on Tuesday.
A "former palace official" who worked with the siblings allegedly told her that there was a widespread misunderstanding about William and Harry. William has always been the one to cause trouble, and it is William who stands in the way of his father's and Harry's appropriate reconciliation.
"This isn't helpful at a time when the king and the nation would be encouraged to see them together again."
Since he and his wife Meghan Markle left their royal duties and relocated to California in 2020, Harry, 39, has been cut off from his family.
When he was in London last week for the Invictus Games' tenth anniversary celebrations, he didn't see any of his relatives.
Harry last met the 75-year-old Charles in February, when he took a quick trip home following the monarch's cancer diagnosis.
A friend of William and Kate Middleton's suggests that while William wouldn't want to reveal his father's responsibilities to Harry, Charles' priority is the unity of the monarchy. Due to William's animosity towards Harry, Charles can't invite Harry and his family to Balmoral for the summer holidays, despite his desire to do so.
Wyatt wrote in her piece that Harry was handled in an “inhuman” manner by William and Charles prior to the Duke of Sussex resigning from royal life.
Despite the drama, Wyatt believes that Harry ought to rejoin the royal family because "a divided family, like a divided political party, has an intrinsic weakness" and "the royal family is a microcosm for every family in Britain."
The monarch's friends claimed that when Harry was in the UK, Charles invited him to stay at a royal home, but Harry declined his father's request.
Harry, according to those close to him, requested to meet his father well in advance of his journey to his birth nation, but Charles declined to visit his son.
Charles’ friends claimed that was not true.
The king of England, Harry VIII, has reportedly visited his son Charles at the most vulnerable moment of his illness, despite the publicity surrounding such visits. Harry allegedly forced Charles to choose between him and Camilla, 76, a woman he publicly despises. This decision was seen as a silly move, as Camilla and Harry had already chosen each other.
Harry also publicly criticized his stepmother in his memoir, "Spare," branding her dangerous and "the villain." He also accused William of physically attacking him during an argument about Markle, which fractured their relationship. Harry's visit to Charles further strained their relationship.
