U.S. President, Donald Trump has said Iran allowed multiple oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz as what he described as a goodwill gesture during ongoing negotiations.

Speaking during a Cabinet meeting at the White House, Trump explained that the move was what he had earlier referred to as a “present” from Iran.

“They said, to show you that we’re real and solid, we’re going to let you have eight boats of oil—eight big boats,” Trump said. “It ended up being 10 boats.”

He added that the vessels were believed to be Pakistani-flagged, though no further official details were immediately provided by the White House.

President Donald Trump has announced he will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in China on May 14–15. This marks the first visit to the country by a U.S. president in nearly a decade. The trip, which was delayed due to the ongoing conflict involving the U.S., Israel, and Iran, will be followed by a reciprocal visit from Xi to Washington later this year. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed the dates, noting that President Xi accepted the request to postpone the original schedule.

"President Xi understood that it's very important for the president to be here throughout these combat operations right now," Leavitt said at a press briefing on Wednesday.

Tuskegee men’s basketball coach Benjy Taylor filed a lawsuit against Morehouse College and two campus police officers on Friday, claiming he suffered emotional and physical harm when he was handcuffed and escorted off the court on Jan. 31.

“He has suffered financial harm, reputational harm, emotional harm as well as physical damages,” Harry Daniels, one of Taylor’s attorneys, told The Associated Press.

Daniels said the lawsuit asks for damages of more than $1 million.

According to the lawsuit, which names campus police officers R. Clark and M. Roberson, members of the Morehouse football team were at the baseline taunting the Tuskegee players during the game. Taylor was concerned the situation would escalate and asked one of the officers for the players to be removed.

President Donald Trump’s decision to order federal immigration agents to U.S. airports to help with security during a budget impasse is drawing concerns that their presence may escalate tensions among air travelers frustrated over hourslong waits and screeners angry about missed paychecks.

Trump made clear on Sunday that he was going ahead with the plan to have immigration enforcement officers assist the Transportation Security Administration by guarding exit lanes or checking passenger IDs unless Democrats agreed to fund the Department of Homeland Security. Democrats are demanding major changes to federal immigration operations and showing no sign of backing down.
