Jamaican athlete Andrew Hudson is set to compete in the 200 meters final this Friday alongside nine other athletes.

This decision was reached by the judges who determined that he did not compete under equal conditions with his opponents.

Hudson, along with fellow athletes, experienced an accident while being transported to the stadium in a vehicle.

Although initially deemed a minor collision with another golf buggy, Hudson stressed that he experienced pain in one eye.

Upon examination by medical services, it was discovered that he had a fragment of glass in his eye. Despite his difficulties, he insisted in running.

"World Athletics asked me if I was going to run or not. It was kind of, run or lose my spot," he noted.

"I worked so hard to be here, so I thought I would at least try. And I tried."

However, his performance in the race did not go as planned, resulting in a fifth-place finish in his semi-final (20.38).

This placement kept him out of the final, which is reserved for the top two athletes from each race and the two fastest times.

Following Hudson's complaint and his inability to run in the previous semi-final, the judges opted to reclassify him for the final.

The World Championships organizing committee is currently investigating the incident, and a volunteer is undergoing treatment following the collision.
