Monday began with the visit of Elon Musk, owner of companies such as Tesla, X and SpaceX, to Israel, which is in the midst of a battle with Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

While the international community is divided between those who defend Netanyahu's government and those who denounce the massacre of thousands of Palestinians, the South African tycoon has struck a deal for the use of several Starlink satellite units in the area.

According to The Times of Israel, Musk has been to the Kibbutz of Kfar Aza, known to be one of the first targets of Hamas in its attack last October. There, he not only saw first-hand the outcome of the fighting, but also heard the Israeli account of the death of Ofir Libstein, head of security who was killed during one of the Hamas assaults.

After that, the tycoon went to the home of Abigail Idan, a four-year-old girl who was freed last Sunday along with other hostages in exchange for a four-day truce in Gaza.

Musk's visit to Israel culminated in a meeting with Yossi Keren, head of the Shaar HaNeguev Regional Council, as well as a representative of the Israeli army press team.
Shlomo Karhi welcomes Elon Musk's support for Israel

At the meeting, Musk agreed to the use of several of his Starlink satellites, on a conditional basis, which Shlomo Karhi, the communications minister, called "significant".

"Starlink satellite units will only be allowed to operate in Israel with approval from the Ministry of Communications, including the Gaza Strip," he wrote on Twitter.

In addition, Karhi welcomed the agreement in principle with Musk as a way to end hatred.

"This understanding is vital, as it is for all who wish for a better world, free of evil and anti-Semitism, for the benefit of our children".

"During your stay in Israel, I hope that you will gain valuable insights and that it will serve as a springboard for future endeavors, as well as enhance your relationship with the Jewish people and the values we share with the entire world. I welcome you to Israel," Karhi concluded.
