Misua, a drag queen who competed on Drag Race: Philippines' fourth season, has died, according to production company World of Wonder. She was 27.

 

"We are heartbroken to share that Misua, a talented queen set to appear on season four of Drag Race Philippines, passed away in her sleep on the morning of April 2," World of Wonder stated on social media. “She brought light, artistry, and joy to those around her, and she will be deeply missed.”

The corporation stated that filming on the Drag Race season, which had not yet been publicly announced, had been suspended and that it was in communication with Misua's family.

"Our thoughts," the actress, born Jayson Elvie Ty, "are with her family, friends, and all who loved her.”

According to Variety, Misua's family paid tribute on Facebook, writing, "Jayson was our dearly loved son, brother, friend, mentor, and, most importantly, Jayson is a star." He will be deeply missed by his beloved family and close friends.

There have been no other facts revealed about her cause of death.
