Victoria Beckham has finally addressed the ongoing tension within her family, months after her son Brooklyn publicly spoke out about their strained relationship.

In a recent interview, Victoria kept her response brief and measured, choosing not to mention Brooklyn directly. Instead, she focused on her role as a parent, saying, "We've always tried to be the best parents that we can be." She added that despite living in the spotlight for decades, "all we've ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children," before concluding, "that's all I really want to say about it."

The former Spice Girls star, who shares four children with David Beckham, admitted that parenting has changed as her children have grown older. "Being a parent of young adult children and adult children... it's very different from having little children," she said, adding that she and David are "trying to do the best we can."

Her comments come after Brooklyn made a series of strong claims earlier this year, making it clear where he stands. "I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private," he wrote. But he said he felt pushed to respond, adding, "I do not want to reconcile with my family."

He went further, saying, "I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life," and claimed that "for my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family."

Brooklyn also alleged that his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, has been at the centre of the fallout. He said his parents "have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship" since before their wedding in 2022.

In his statement, he criticised what he described as "performative social media posts," saying they had long been "a fixture of the life I was born into." He also claimed, "Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they'll go through to place countless lies in the media... to preserve their own facade," adding, "I believe the truth always comes out."

While the situation continues to draw attention, Victoria made it clear she is not letting it affect her work. "I think that ultimately people are buying my product because the product is really good," she said. "I don't think they're buying my eyeliner just because it's me."

For now, both sides appear firm in their positions, with the family rift still unresolved.
