Singer and model Casandra “Cassie” Ventura Fine has officially relocated outside of the United States and has no intention of returning. The major life update came to light through a newly unsealed court declaration dated May 1, 2026, marking a definitive new chapter for the R&B artist following her pivotal role in the legal downfall of her ex-partner, hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs.
The revelation emerged from a California civil lawsuit filed against Ventura and Combs by male escort Clayton Howard. In her formal response, the 39-year-old singer explicitly clarified her current residency status to the court. “I reside outside of the United States,” Ventura stated in the declaration. “I do not intend to move back to the United States.” While she confirmed she remains a U.S. citizen, she emphasized that she is no longer a resident of California, requesting that the ongoing legal proceedings be moved to New York where her legal team is anchored.
The move follows an intensely turbulent period for Ventura, who dated Combs on and off between 2007 and 2018. In November 2023, she filed a bombshell federal lawsuit accusing Combs of decade-long sex trafficking, rape, and severe physical abuse. While Combs initially denied the allegations, the case was resolved within 24 hours through a staggering $20 million civil settlement.
Despite the swift settlement, Ventura’s initial courage opened the floodgates for federal authorities. She served as a star prosecution witness during Combs’ blockbuster May 2025 federal criminal trial, delivering emotional testimony regarding the inner workings of his coercive “freak-off” events. Combs was ultimately convicted of multiple prostitution-related charges and sentenced to over four years in federal prison in October 2025. During the criminal proceedings, Ventura testified that she would gladly return the $20 million payout if it meant she could erase the trauma she endured.
Now living overseas with her husband, fitness trainer Alex Fine, and their three young children, Ventura appears focused on a completely fresh start away from American paparazzi and the heavy public scrutiny tied to the case. While she has chosen not to publicly disclose her exact international location to protect her family’s privacy, her legal team notes that moving abroad represents an essential step in her long-term healing.
