Travis Barker has revealed why he underwent surgery after sharing photos from a hospital bed with his wife, Kourtney Kardashian, and daughter Alabama Barker.

He explained Wednesday that he had been experiencing numbness in his arm, hand and fingers since performing at a show last month. After undergoing a nerve test Monday following another performance, doctors determined that he needed a cubital tunnel release to address the problem.

"I had surgery yesterday," Barker wrote on his Instagram Story. "My arm, hand and fingers have been numb since a show I played last month. I did a nerve test Monday after my show and turns out I needed a cubital tunnel release to fix the nerve."

The procedure addresses problems involving the ulnar nerve, which passes through the cubital tunnel on the inside of the elbow. Compression or irritation of the nerve can cause numbness and tingling in the hand and fingers.

Barker said he decided to undergo the procedure rather than allow the issue to interfere with his career.

"I wanted to get ahead of it and get it over with so that I can keep playing the way I play for a long long time," he explained. "Should be good in a few weeks."

The update came after Barker initially shared photos from his hospital bed, prompting concern among fans. In one photo, his daughter Alabama, 20, sat beside him.

"My baby girl came with me," he captioned the picture.

He also shared a photo of Kardashian standing beside his hospital bed and kissing him. "And my beautiful wife by my side," he wrote.

Barker later posted another selfie with Kardashian, who appeared to be smiling beside him as he wore a hospital gown and surgical cap.

"Not sure why my wife looks so happy about this," he joked.

The drummer has previously undergone surgery for a hand injury. In 2023, he dislocated a finger while rehearsing with Blink-182 and tore the surrounding ligaments.
