Sia has been granted primary physical custody of her 2-year-old son, Somersault Wonder Bernad, following a custody agreement with her estranged husband, Daniel Bernad.
According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE and TMZ, the former couple has agreed on arrangements for their son's care, with Sia remaining his primary custodial parent and Bernad receiving visitation rights.
The agreement also establishes schedules for holidays and vacations, outlines a process for deciding which preschool their son will attend and requires the former couple to work with a parenting plan coordinator. The arrangements allow both parents to spend time with their son while setting out responsibilities for his upbringing.
The settlement follows a custody dispute that intensified in October 2025, when Bernad sought emergency sole legal and physical custody of the child. He alleged in court filings that Sia was an "unfit and unreliable parent struggling with substance abuse and addiction."
Sia disputed the allegations, telling the court she had been sober for more than six months and was participating in a recovery programme that included weekly testing and a sober companion. She also described her recovery as a cornerstone of her life.
A judge subsequently denied Bernad's request for emergency sole custody, finding that "sufficient exigency for the requested emergency relief has not been shown at this time." The former couple was later ordered to attend mediation to resolve their custody disagreements.
The latest agreement follows a separate child support settlement reached in April 2026. Under that arrangement, Sia agreed to pay Bernad $42,500 per month for their son. She is also responsible for private school tuition, agreed extracurricular activities and uninsured healthcare expenses, while maintaining health insurance for the child.
The agreement further requires the singer to maintain a $5 million life insurance policy naming her son as beneficiary or establish a trust providing equivalent financial protection if she dies before he reaches adulthood.
Sia filed for divorce from Bernad in March 2025, after the couple married in 2022. They welcomed Somersault in March 2024.
