The Syrian military has given ISIL fighters 48 hours to leave a pocket they control in the capital's south, a pro-government local newspaper reported on Thursday.

Syrian forces have for days been launching air strikes on the area controlled by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also known as ISIS) in the south of Damascus, primarily around the Palestinian Yarmouk refugee camp and its surrounding neighbourhoods, Al Watan daily said.

Israel has freed 207 African migrants from prison after it missed a deadline to deport them, AFP news agency reports.

The government is still negotiating with a third country, believed to be Uganda, to take in the migrants who come from Eritrea and Sudan.

Iran will enforce a 42,000-rial exchange rate for the US dollar as of Tuesday, in a move expected to end a currency crisis that has angered Iranians.

The Iranian rial hit an all-time low against the dollar on Monday, when the majority of exchange offices in Tehran turned off their indicators amid fluctuating rates.

Each dollar was reportedly trading for more than 60,000 rials on Monday, posting a whopping 16 percent rise against the Iranian currency compared to Sunday morning.
