Minnesota Governor Tim Walz sported a friendship bracelet during the vice presidential debate, a nod familiar to Taylor Swift fans. Walz, debating Ohio Senator J.D. Vance at CBS Broadcast Center in New York City on Tuesday, Oct. 1, wore the bracelet on his right wrist. New York City Mayor Eric Adams has been indicted on five federal charges, including wire fraud, bribery, and accepting illegal campaign contributions from foreign nationals. The 57-page indictment, made public on September 26, 2024, by the Southern District of New York, accuses Adams of accepting luxury travel and gifts from wealthy foreign businesspeople and government officials in exchange for political favors. Among the most notable allegations are Adams' connections to Turkey, where he allegedly received free or discounted trips, including a stay at the St. Regis Istanbul at a heavily reduced price.
