Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry (36) is out of Wednesday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder due to pain in both of his knees. Curry was downgraded from 'questionable' to 'out' just hours ahead of the game against the Thunder.
There was no undisclosed medical reason for the pain in his knees but it's also worth noting that he sat out practice on Tuesday as well. The superstar point guard is coming off a Monday night loss to the Brooklyn Nets where put up 28 points on 8-17 shooting (8-16 from three-point range) with four rebounds, seven assists, and one steal.
Curry is averaging 22.4 points on the year, which is his lowest since his third year in the league which he put up 14.7 points per game in 26 games. He hasn't averaged below 25 points per game in a full season since the 2014-2015 season when he won MVP, surprising enough.
This will now be the fourth game the perennial all-star has misted this season, missing the other three due to an ankle injury. Meanwhile, Oklahoma City Thunder guard Alex Caruso will also be out for Wednesday's matchup with a hip injury, making it his second straight missed game.
The Warriors are second in the Western Conference with a 12-5 record, sitting just a game back of the conference-leading Thunder (13-4). This will mark the two respective teams' first of two matchups this season.
