Taylor Swift, aged 34, disclosed her meticulous planning for integrating her latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," into the European segment of her Eras Tour. Speaking during her second performance in Paris on May 10th, Swift shared that the inception of this surprise addition to her concert took place eight or nine months prior, preceding the album's release in April.

Addressing her enthusiastic audience at the París La Défense Arena in France, Swift expressed her gratitude, acknowledging Paris as the inaugural city to experience the new chapter of her tour. She emphasized the collaborative effort involved in bringing this surprise to fruition, applauding her crew, dancers, band, and backing vocalists for their dedication during the two-month break from the Eras Tour, which was seamlessly transitioned into intensive rehearsals.

The momentous occasion was captured and shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Variety on May 10th. Following her announcement, Swift delved into the acoustic segment of the show, a customary part where she surprises her audience with songs not listed on the setlist. Among these surprises were a mashup of her 2014 hits "Is It Over Now?" and "Out Of The Woods," along with "My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys" from her latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department."

Commencing the European leg of her Eras Tour on May 9th in Paris, Swift is set to perform four consecutive shows in the city. Notably, she has made significant adjustments to her performance to incorporate tracks from "The Tortured Poets Department" since its release, including modifying the intro to feature the title track and integrating songs like "Down Bad," "Fortnight," and "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?"

Concluding her Parisian shows on May 12th, Swift will continue her tour with performances scheduled in Stockholm, Lisbon, and Madrid throughout the remainder of May. Subsequently, she will proceed to the U.K. before culminating the European leg with a show in Dublin in late June.
