Kevin De Bruyne has confirmed he will leave Manchester City at the end of the season when his contract expires. The 33-year-old Belgian midfielder has enjoyed a decorated decade at the club, collecting 16 trophies, including six Premier League titles and the 2023 Champions League. De Bruyne, who joined City from Wolfsburg in 2015, has scored 106 goals in 413 appearances and has been central to one of the most successful periods in the club's history.

Although he has only started 19 games this season, his impact remains undeniable, and he is widely regarded as one of the Premier League's finest midfielders. Pep Guardiola praised him as "one of the greatest midfielders to ever play in this country," comparing his influence to former City legends like Vincent Kompany, Sergio Aguero, and David Silva. In an emotional message, De Bruyne expressed deep gratitude for the club and city, calling this period "the best chapter" of his life and career, and stating Manchester "will always be our home."

City said they are preparing a proper farewell for the Belgian, acknowledging his legendary status and contributions. De Bruyne's journey began with Genk before a short stint at Chelsea, followed by a breakout at Wolfsburg. At City, he flourished under Guardiola's guidance, evolving into a world-class playmaker and helping lead the club to domestic and European dominance.

Despite battling injuries in recent seasons, including a long-term hamstring issue this campaign, his record remains outstanding. He has the most Premier League assists since 2015 (117), the most chances created (827), and is second all-time in assists behind Ryan Giggs. De Bruyne also holds the record for most Playmaker Awards (3) and has twice been named Premier League Player of the Season. His standout performances, like the Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid in 2023, have cemented his legacy. While his next destination is unknown, potential moves include Saudi Arabia, though nothing has been confirmed.

As he prepares to depart, De Bruyne leaves behind a remarkable legacy, hailed as a true great of the game and a defining figure in Manchester City's history.
