The actor didn't feel like he was working when the pair recorded a scene for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga because of this. "We have three kids, so it's kind of like date night for us," Chris, who is married to Elsa and has a 12-year-old daughter named India and 10-year-old twin boys named Sasha and Tristan, exclusively told E! News at the Cannes Film Festival. "Going to work together is when we get some alone time."
Chris also joked that they "spent a lot of time" on set because Elsa played two roles in the Mad Max: Fury Road prequel. To quote the forty-year-old, "It's cool."
Though Chris married Elsa in 2010, he acknowledged that their working environment did lessen the magic of movies for their children.
The former Thor actor clarified, "They were on set a lot." "They know the tricks, having seen behind the scenes. For them, nothing is very surprising."
Chris joked that his children are "probably the only ones that would survive in the wasteland" of the Mad Max universe, characterizing his family as a "wild" bunch.
"They've seen it," he continued, referring to the dystopian movie in which Anya Taylor-Joy plays the title character that was previously portrayed by Charlize Theron. "That says something about me as a parent, doesn't it?"
Chris has a laid-back parenting style, but his exercise regimen is something entirely different. As he pointed out, "Exercise is a way to stay sane."
Chris went on, "If I don't put it somewhere, I have a lot of energy in me." "I love staying active."
