The former Good Morning America co-host Amy Robach is setting the record straight about her marriage to actor Andrew Shue. The two were married from 2010 to 2022 before divorcing last year.

Robach, 50, spoke to online magazine Frensic about the end of her marriage to Shue, 56, and addressed longstanding rumors about whether he had ever proposed with an engagement ring.

"There was no engagement ring. It didn't exist," Robach stated bluntly. "We just got married at some point, it was very low-key."

The television journalist said the lack of a formal proposal or engagement ring symbolized the informality and unconventional nature of their relationship from the beginning. Robach and Shue had been friends for years before they began dating in 2008.

"Our relationship was always non-traditional," she explained. "Maybe that's why it didn't work out in the end, I don't know. But there were never any bells and whistles, we just started dating and then got married."

Robach said she has no regrets about how their relationship unfolded, though she acknowledged sadness over the divorce. The former couple share two daughters together - Ava, 20, and Analise, 16. Shue also has three sons from a previous marriage.

"It's been hard on the kids, there's no getting around that," Robach admitted. "But Andrew and I are committed to keeping things amicable and healthy for them. Our friend group meshed too, we had a real community, so there's sadness there too at how it all ended."

The television personality did not go into specifics about what led to their split, only stating that sometimes relationships simply don't work out over time. She said she is focusing on herself, her children, and her career at this stage.

"I'm not looking to date right now, it's too soon after everything," Robach said. "But I'm also not ruling anything out forever. For now, I'm just doing my job to the best of my ability and being there for my kids, everything else is on the back burner."

Robach departed GMA3 last year after reports surfaced of a relationship with her co-host T.J. Holmes. The two have remained low-key about their personal lives amidst the fallout and controversy surrounding their workplace relationship.

As she moves forward into this new phase, Robach seems determined to take the high road when it comes to her ex-husband. While setting the record straight about the lack of an engagement ring, she had no harsh words for Shue himself.

"Andrew is a good man and a good father," she said simply. "Our marriage didn't make it, but I'll never regret the life we built together for as long as we could."
