Suri Cruise is not only interested in following her famous parents into acting but also has a passion for music. The 18-year-old daughter of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise was spotted in New York on Friday, carrying a guitar while out with a friend. Suri, who is set to graduate from high school in the coming weeks, had a beige Taylor guitar bag slung over her shoulder. She wore a white tube top, black athletic shorts, and her favorite brown leather cowboy boots, accessorized with a gold chain necklace, matching bracelet, and rings. Her brunette hair was styled in a messy ponytail, kept in place with a headband, and she opted for a makeup-free look.
Suri recently celebrated her 18th birthday without her estranged father. Tom Cruise was in London filming the eighth Mission Impossible movie at the time. The action star has been enjoying his extended stay in the UK, including attending Victoria Beckham's 50th birthday party on April 20. Despite being a VIP guest at the celebration, Tom missed Suri's milestone birthday. He has been estranged from Suri since 2013, a year after his divorce from Katie Holmes.
With Suri turning 18, Tom's reported $400,000 annual child support payments to Katie have come to an end, as per their divorce agreement. The last public photo of Tom with Suri was taken during a trip to Disneyland in 2012, the year his divorce from Katie was finalized. At the time, it was rumored that Katie ended their marriage due to concerns about raising Suri as a Scientologist, a religion Tom has been devoted to for years.
Suri is reportedly looking to study fashion in New York starting in September. A source told the Daily Mail: "Suri is applying to schools all over the place. [Katie] really does want her to stay in New York so they can be close to each other. Katie takes great pride in her but is also extremely overprotective."
As Suri plans her future career, Tom remains focused on his. He has been in the UK filming Mission Impossible 8, which is expected to be titled Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two and is scheduled for release on May 23, 2025. The first part, Dead Reckoning Part One, was released in July last year.
