Sofia Richie and her husband, Elliot Grainge, joyfully welcomed their first child, daughter Eloise Samantha Grainge, on May 20. The name they chose for their newborn carries a special significance, paying tribute to a beloved family member.

Eloise's middle name, "Samantha",honors Elliot's late mother, Samantha Berg, who tragically passed away in 2007 after falling into a coma due to childbirth complications.

This heartfelt tribute ensures that Samantha's memory will live on through her granddaughter. While the couple has not publicly shared the inspiration behind the first name "Eloise", the choice of middle name is a poignant reminder of family bonds and legacy.

Sofia, whose own middle name "Alexandra" is a nod to her mother, Diane Alexander, announced the birth of Eloise in a heartfelt message. "Best day of my life", she gushed in a May 24 Instagram post, accompanying an adorable black-and-white photo of her newborn's tiny feet.

Reflecting on her pregnancy, Sofia shared her awe and gratitude for the journey. In a January interview with Vogue, she remarked, "I've learned more in the past six months than I have in my entire life. And, just like what the female body is capable of. Every week brings new things, whether it's hormonal shifts or expansion—there's just so much  our bodies go through, and it's so interesting to experience it all".

The excitement surrounding Eloise's arrival was shared by the entire family. Sofia's parents, Diane and Lionel Richie, and Elliot's father and stepmother, Lucian and Caroline Grainge, were overjoyed at the news.

Sofia and Elliot revealed the pregnancy to their families in a creative and memorable way. During a visit to Elliot's parents, Sofia presented them with a gift box. "I think I had a box—I want to say it was a Hermès box or some sort of box—and I told everyone that I had bought them a gift from Milan Fashion Week", Sofia recalled. Inside the box were three positive pregnancy tests, leaving their families in awe and delight.
