Angelina Jolie and her daughter Vivienne made a fashionable appearance at the 77th Annual Tony Awards, held at the David H. Koch Theater in New York City on June 16, 2024. Jolie, 49, attended the event in celebration of “The Outsiders,” a musical adaptation she co-produced, which earned 12 Tony nominations, including Best Musical.
Jolie, who also presented during the ceremony, wore a custom light-teal Atelier Versace strapless gown featuring a sweetheart neckline, a corseted bodice, and fluid draping, complemented by a coordinating velvet shrug. Her effortless down hairstyle and matching satin Versace shoes completed the elegant look.
Vivienne, 15, who is credited as a producer assistant for “The Outsiders,” matched her mother’s style with a crisp white shirt under a teal vest, teal trousers, and a bow tie. She added a youthful touch with a pair of Converse sneakers.
The mother-daughter duo’s stylish presence on the red carpet highlighted their close bond and shared passion for the arts. Jolie has often spoken about how Vivienne inspired her to take on the Broadway project. “She saw an early workshop a few times and then invited me to it,” the “Maleficent” star revealed at the musical’s opening night in April. “Viv is a young artist who focuses her efforts on supporting others. She has learned so much from [score and co-book writer] Justin Levine and the whole creative team.”
Their night at the Tonys was especially meaningful as Jolie navigates her role as a first-time Tony nominee and a mother of six. In a recent interview with Deadline, Jolie shared that working with Vivienne behind the scenes allowed her to gain new insights into her daughter. “It was a very different experience of understanding how this is having a significant effect on her as a young person right now,” Jolie said. “She’s communicating something to me, and that is the power of this material.”
The pair also made a memorable appearance at the musical’s opening night on April 11, with Jolie in a gold slip dress and silk cape, while Vivienne wore a navy jumpsuit that coordinated with Levine’s outfit.
