Jessie J has spoken candidly about the emotional toll of her breast cancer diagnosis, revealing that treatment has left her feeling as though precious time with her 2-year-old son, Sky, has been stolen.

The 37-year-old singer shared her reflections on Jamie Laing's Great Company podcast, where she discussed how surgery and recovery have disrupted her ability to be fully present as a mother. "Yesterday I sobbed, because I miss my boy. I can't be a mom like I want to be a mom, and I feel robbed," Jessie admitted. "The worst part is, cancer has taken away memories I wanted to create with him. Anyone with a toddler knows how quickly they change, you blink and suddenly they're chatting away."

Jessie, who underwent a full mastectomy in June after doctors detected a lump, described both her fear and her determination. While her cancer was caught early, she said there were moments she feared for her life. "I had times where I thought, 'this is going to go left, and I'm going to die,'" she recalled. "But I've always believed that challenges push me to grow and give me the chance to help others who may go through the same thing."

The star, who shares Sky with partner Chanan Safir Colman, also revealed that music helped her cope. Her last performance before surgery was at Capital's Summertime Ball. "I told the crowd it was my last show before treatment, and the love they gave me was overwhelming," she said. "When I was put to sleep for surgery, I replayed that moment in my head."

Since her operation, Jessie has been vocal about her hopes and future goals. She wants to write children's music, take her family on holiday, and embrace new creative projects. Despite needing further surgery, she says her son has been her greatest source of strength. "Sky is the light of my life," she said. "Even on the hardest days, he reminds me why I'm fighting."
