Kelly Osbourne has launched a fierce defense of her late father, rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, after WWE star Becky Lynch mocked both the musician and his hometown of Birmingham during a live broadcast of Monday Night Raw.

Lynch, 38, from Limerick, Ireland, was addressing the crowd in Birmingham when she declared she would not wrestle there. She then went further, telling fans: "The only good thing that came out of here died a month ago." The reference to Ozzy, who passed away on July 22 at the age of 76, drew loud boos from the arena. Lynch added, "In fairness to Ozzy Osbourne, he had the good sense to move to LA, a proper city. Because if I lived in Birmingham, I'd die, too."

The comments quickly spread online and provoked outrage, with Kelly Osbourne, 40, firing back on Instagram. Tagging Lynch directly, she wrote: "You are a disrespectful dirtbag! Birmingham would not piss on you if you were on fire." She also blasted WWE leadership for allowing the segment to air, writing, "Shame on the @wwe for allowing such things to be said about my father and his home!!!"

Ozzy Osbourne, who rose to fame in Birmingham as the frontman of Black Sabbath, died following a heart attack, with coronary artery disease and Parkinson's disease cited as contributing factors. He had also struggled with mobility issues for years after a 2003 quad bike accident.

The Osbourne family held a private funeral after a public procession through Birmingham, where fans paid tribute to the heavy metal pioneer. Kelly previously described her father as her "best friend" in a heartfelt social media post following his death.

Fans of both wrestling and rock music expressed anger at Lynch's remarks. One user on X, formerly Twitter, said: "Whoever wrote Becky's script should be ashamed. That cheap shot at Ozzy's memory was disgusting." Others accused WWE of exploiting a fresh family tragedy for shock value.
