Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce aren't wasting any time celebrating their engagement. Just two days after announcing the news, the pop icon and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end made their first public appearance as fiancés — and Swift's outfit had fans buzzing.
On Thursday, Aug. 28, the couple attended the season opener between the Cincinnati Bearcats and Nebraska Cornhuskers at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo. The venue was fitting, as it has become a backdrop to their love story over the past year. Kelce, 35, once played for the Bearcats, making the moment even more personal.
Swift, 35, drew eyes with a white sweater vest, pleated denim mini skirt, and knee-high off-white boots, a look many fans called her "bridal era debut." She flashed her new engagement ring more than once, with social media users zooming in on the diamond sparkle caught in fan videos. Kelce kept things casual in a red-and-white polo, topping off his look with a Bearcats cap. His brother, Jason Kelce, and Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes joined them in the stands.
The couple revealed their engagement on Aug. 26 with a joint Instagram post showing Kelce's garden proposal. "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨," Swift wrote, alongside photos of Kelce on one knee, the pair embracing under a floral arch, and a close-up of the vintage-inspired ring.
Designed with Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry, the old mine brilliant cut diamond has been valued between $500,000 and $1 million, depending on quality. Jewelers have praised its "traditional yet modern" setting in 18k yellow gold.
Earlier this month, Swift appeared on the New Heights podcast with Travis and Jason, where she teased her upcoming album The Life of a Showgirl and spoke candidly about her relationship. "He made me laugh so immediately, about normal things," she said, calling Travis "a vibe booster in everyone's life."
From NFL games to playoff baseball, stadiums have become the couple's unofficial date night spot, but this one, with a ring sparkling on Swift's finger, was different.
