Taylor Swift is putting an end to the buzz surrounding her alleged refusal to headline the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show.

During a candid chat with The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon, the Life of a Showgirl singer firmly denied reports claiming she declined the NFL's biggest stage over performance rights issues. "No," she said simply when Fallon asked if the rumors were true.

"Jay-Z has always been good to me," Swift explained, referring to the rapper and mogul whose Roc Nation company produces the halftime show. "Our teams talk sometimes, and they'll ask, 'How does she feel about the Super Bowl?' But that's not an official offer. It's just a casual check-in."

Fans had speculated Swift would perform at the February 2026 event following her record-breaking 12th studio album, but in September, the NFL confirmed Puerto Rican pop star Bad Bunny as the headliner.

While Swift has never graced the Super Bowl stage, her connection to the sport has grown stronger through her fiancé, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. She's been a regular face at his games since their relationship began in 2023.

"I'm in love with a guy who does that sport on that field," Swift told Fallon. "The whole season, I'm completely locked in on what that man is doing. Can you imagine if he's out there putting his body on the line, and I'm sitting there thinking about choreography?"

She was quick to clarify the decision wasn't about Kelce's influence. "He'd love for me to do it. I'm just too focused on what's happening during the season," she said with a smile.

The pop superstar's remarks come amid a busy year marked by her engagement to Kelce and the release of The Life of a Showgirl, which shattered streaming records within days.

For now, Swift says she's content watching from the stands, cheering on her fiancé rather than performing mid-game. "It's just not the right time," she said.
